"Creator of Working On Your Now —
The Journey Starts From Within"
Lori Beard-Daily's trajectory — from corporate to entrepreneur to playwright, author, educator, and storyteller — is a masterclass in reinvention. Her story is not a pivot; it is a purposeful expansion of a voice that has always known its power.
She launched her advertising career at Delta Air Lines, and after two years as advertising director she founded Beard|Daily, her own marketing communications agency, building a blue-chip client list across 14 years. Her company was selected by Turner Broadcasting System Inc. as its sole protégé in an Atlanta-based entrepreneurial program, and she earned the prestigious Governor's Mentor Protégé Assertive Entrepreneur Award.
Under her leadership, her agency created brand awareness campaigns for the 30th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival, shaped communications strategy for Cancer Treatment Centers of America, and developed Delta Air Lines' first advertising portal and managed the advertising of their internal magazine, Delta NewsDigest — growing revenue from $375K to $1 million in a single year, and she also penned the magazine's travel column.
All the while, Lori never stopped writing. She has had three original plays produced — two under the direction of the late Carol Mitchell-Leon, a celebrated Atlanta actress, theatre director, and Clark Atlanta University faculty member whose belief in Lori's writing helped shape her voice as a storyteller. She earned a nomination for the 48th Georgia Author of the Year Award — one of the most prestigious literary honors in the Southeast. She was featured on 60 Minutes, interviewed by the late Mike Wallace in a segment entitled "Going Home to the South."
Today, she serves as Adjunct Faculty at Clark Atlanta University, holds a Master of Arts in Writing and Digital Communication from Agnes Scott College, and is the creator of the women's empowerment platform Working On Your Now. Her next chapter: she has written her first television pilot, with the goal of bringing it to a major network or streaming platform.
A mockumentary about a sophisticated, middle-aged, overqualified woman who lands a federal job and discovers it's a masterclass in nepotism and incompetence.
Too smart to quit and too stubborn to break, she survives by treating every chaotic workday like a scene she's acting in — quietly channeling the daily dysfunction into a pilot script that actually evolves into a hit, binge-worthy TV series. Lori is currently developing this project with the goal of bringing it to a major network or streaming platform.
